Meet our senior leaders

Tom and Katy Cornell are the founding pastors of SOZO Church and leaders of a growing network of ministries focused on advancing the Kingdom of God in everyday life.

Married for nearly two decades, they carry a deep passion to see people experience God’s power and presence now—not just in eternity. Their journey in ministry began in 2007, helping plant a church while in college, and quickly expanded to the nations after responding to a call to Burkina Faso, West Africa.

In 2009, they founded Walk In The Light International, which has helped establish schools, health centers, wells, and churches—bringing both practical support and the Gospel to communities in need. In 2011, they planted their first church, and in 2019 launched SOZO Church, which has since grown into a thriving apostolic hub.

Through SOZO Church, various nonprofits and their training schools, they equip people to walk in freedom, identity, and Kingdom purpose. Tom is an author focused on helping believers live transformed lives, and Katy is actively engaged in government, leading a campaign consulting company and running for State Representative in Washington.

They have three children and reside in Gig Harbor, Washington.

Hello, we are George and Angie! We share a deep love for God, for people, and for the house of the Lord. Our life has been marked by faith, perseverance, and desire to see lives transformed through the love of Jesus. We believe that the church should feel like family; a place where people are welcomed, strengthened and encouraged to grow.

Hey there! We are Jeff and Gail and are excited to meet you. Our children are now grown, and we carry deep passion for serving military members and defense workers; we love seeing the next generation mature through encouragement, prayer, and support within leadership and the body of Christ. Together, we are excited to welcome you and have you join us at SOZO Church!

Hey! We are Bradford and Rachael – we are passionate about building a thriving church family at our Belfair Campus! We want to build a place where people encounter God and are transformed by His love. We have two children and are deeply passionate about healthy marriage and family. We love discipleship and are committed to raising up the next generation and strengthening families to walk in freedom, identity, and purpose in Christ. We love serving the local church and the nations and are honored to walk alongside others whose lives are fully surrendered to God… with big faith!!

Jared & Abbey Schmitz

Hi! We’re Jared and Abbey Schmitz, and we lead and oversee SOZO Outreach, local and global missions. We love inspiring the church family with a prophetic and evangelistic passion. Our heart is to bring people into real encounters with the presence of God—igniting a fire for breakthrough and purpose in every life. Beyond ministry, we’re passionate about building businesses and equipping others to step into what they’re called to do. We’re also proud parents of four, and we love modeling what it looks like to live out a healthy, kingdom-centered family.

Hey there! We are Caleb and Shannon Fahey. Our lives are a testimony of God’s redeeming power, and we carry a deep passion to see people encounter the presence of Jesus, walk in freedom, and discover their identity in the Kingdom. Together, we are committed to strengthening marriages, building healthy families, and raising up disciples who carry the culture of heaven into their homes and communities. We’re also raising and enjoying our blended family of six children, and we love living out what we teach in our own home.

Hey there! Kendyl here. It is an honor to lead our worship and creative teams across both of our campuses — we are building up a company of creatives and musicians and cultivating space for creative expression in worship at every level!  I love fun & adventure — and I am so excited to be pioneering our youth ministry at Tacoma Campus alongside our team! Let’s go!

Hi, we are Bryan and Jen! We love serving the house of God together and are passionate about seeing people encounter Jesus and be transformed by Him. Serving as the Executive Campus Pastor at SOZO Tacoma, and I carry a deep love for Jesus and a heart to see others step into their true identity and live fully surrendered to God’s purpose.

Hey! We’re Mark and Janica, and we’ve been together for over a decade and are blessed with three beautiful daughters. Having both grown up in Kitsap County, we love spending time together as a family—whether that’s playing games and sports, enjoying great food, traveling, or simply pursuing Jesus together. We share a deep passion for seeing the younger generation grow and thrive in their faith.
